3. Deepavali 2026 in Singapore

The Festival of Lights falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026, which makes it a perfect long-ish weekend of feasts, family visits and festive strolls. Head to Little India for the light-up, Serangoon Road shopping and sweets, and book dinner early because restaurants fill fast.
Want the full rundown? Our own Deepavali Singapore 2026 events and family activities guide covers where to go, and our Deepavali food guide tells you what to eat.
What to wear: Singapore’s heat calls for breathable cotton, and festive doesn’t have to mean heavy. Nimbu’s newest Deepavali edit, the Zia collection, is handcrafted in Jaipur in warm coral and gold prints. Think the Zia Coral & Gold Boys Kurta Pajama Set (S$79.90) and the Zia Coral & Gold Girls Kurti Sharara Set (from S$99.90), with a matching Women’s Kurti & Pants Set for mum.
Want the whole family in sync? 4. Christmas Lights, Villages & Festive Events (From Early November)
Source: christmas.orchardroad.org
Singapore kicks off Christmas early. Exact 2026 dates were still to be announced, but you can expect:
-
Christmas on A Great Street, Orchard Road: The annual light-up usually starts in early November and runs to the new year, with free street lights, pop-ups and the Great Christmas Villages.
-
Changi Festive Village (from 7 Nov, Terminal 3): Free, with Pokémon-themed installations.
-
Marina Bay Sands Christmas village: A large village is planned for this November.
-
Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay: Estimated from late November, with ticketed attractions.
-
Gardens by the Bay Christmas Train Show: Usually runs through the festive season.
What to wear: Evenings on Orchard Road are warm and sticky even in the “cool” season, so cotton wins. Twin up for those photo-perfect moments with Nimbu’s Mum & Me and Dad & Me matching sets, or dress siblings in twinning sets. For a cosy night in after the lights, the matching family sleepwear is made for Christmas morning photos.
5. Kids & Family-Friendly Events in Singapore This November
The best family weekend of the month is 7–9 November: Deepavali on Sunday 8 November is observed with a public holiday on Monday 9 November, and it overlaps with Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Here are the kid-friendly events worth planning around.

-
Pokémon RUN 30: Singapore Edition (7–8 Nov, The Kallang): A 4km themed fun run built for families and casual runners, with Pokémon Gym-style challenges and a Pokédex search activity. Strollers are welcome (some sections aren’t suitable for wheels). The run is paid and pre-registered only, with slots from 7am to 11.30am and prices from about S$138. The Festival Zone is free for everyone, open 8am to 2pm, with merchandise, photo spots and Pikachu appearances. See the official registration page.
-

Deepavali in Little India (8 Nov): Take the kids to see the street lights, visit the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple and join a family-friendly walking tour. See our Deepavali family activities guide for more.
-
Christmas villages and train shows (from early Nov): Expect carnival rides, snow shows and festive games on Orchard Road, a Christmas village at Marina Bay Sands, and the Christmas Train Show at Gardens by the Bay. Exact 2026 dates were still to be announced.
-
School holidays (from 22 Nov): Look out for holiday camps, workshops and indoor play zones, which tend to book out early.
Family outfit ideas:
- For the Pokémon run or Festival Zone: Pick light, active pieces. Nimbu’s boys’ co-ord sets and girls’ jumpsuits and playsuits are easy to move in, and the Lana Lily Ice Cool Cotton Girls Kurti Dress & Palazzo Set (from S$79.90) keeps cool in the heat.
- For Deepavali with the kids: Try the Neera Sapphire Boys Kurta Pajama (S$69.90) or the Aira Soft Pink Girls Halter Palazzo Set (S$79.90) for little ones who won’t stop running between stalls. Babies have their own baby collection.
- For Christmas villages: Match as a family in twinning casual sets, then finish the night in matching family sleepwear.
Tips for going out with kids: Arrive early for morning events, carry water and a compact umbrella for the monsoon showers, and check stroller access before you go.
Weather Tips for November in Singapore
November sits in the northeast monsoon season, so afternoon showers are common. Carry a compact umbrella, choose light layers, and pick natural fabrics that dry quickly and don’t cling. Every Nimbu piece is made from breathable cotton, designed in Singapore and handcrafted in small batches in India.
